Missy Speert, CEO

For as long as I can remember, music has been my greatest passion.  Literally before I could walk, I would pull myself up using the spindles on my crib to dance to Beatles songs that would come on the radio my mother would play for me. I wholeheartedly believe that early exposure helped develop my keen ear for talent. I got my first real guitar at the age of 10, started my first band shortly after that, and by high school I was playing professionally.  I studied both music and the music business at Berklee during my college years, and started supporting myself playing music right out of college.

Having worked at music for so many years, I have a very unique and comprehensive approach to working with other musicians. As opposed to most people in my position, I am an artist first and approach everything with a very creative spirit and great respect and understanding for the artist, their talent, and their process. More than anything, it is a partnership I form with the musicians I work with.

I spent the majority of my professional years in Atlanta,GA. In the early 90’s I formed the band She Said, where I was the guitar player and primary songwriter. We were promptly signed to a major record label, SBK Records, based almost solely on the strength of the music. Over the next several years, I had the good fortune and pleasure to work with some of the most talented artists to come out of that fertile Atlanta music scene, Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls), Steve Walsh&Phil Ehart (Kansas), Kristen Hall (Sugarland), and Brenden O’Brien (Producer) , to name a few.

I started recording and producing music in the late 90’s and formed Bombshell Music in the early 2000’s primarily as an independent music production company. Then a few years ago, I relocated my life and my business to Los Angeles in order to continue to grow and expand the scope of services I offer. In 2015, I launched my independent artist development division.

Thank you for reading this and taking the time to get to know a little bit about me. I welcome working with emerging talent.
